Welcome to another episode of the Health for the Spirit, Soul, and Body Blog from Doxa Missions. Today, we’re exploring a powerful truth that can transform your outlook: Your Best Is Yet to Come.
Life can sometimes feel overwhelming. Our attention becomes fixed on challenges, and hope begins to fade. We might believe that we’ve reached the end of our strength and ability to endure. However, today, I want to remind you that the fact you’re here right now is proof that you’ve made it through 100% of the difficulties you’ve faced so far. And if you’re still here, that means there’s hope for a brighter future!
The Certainty of Hope
Let’s begin with a promise from God’s Word:
“For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease.” – Job 14:7 (KJV)
“For to him that is joined to all the living there is hope: for a living dog is better than a dead lion.” – Ecclesiastes 9:4 (KJV)
Are you alive? Then there is hope for you!
Were you knocked down? There is hope for you!
Did you fail a crucial test or face rejection? Don’t give up! There is hope for you.
Hope is the confident expectation that something good is on the horizon. It is not wishful thinking; it is an assurance grounded in faith. Hope serves as a bridge between your current circumstances and the future God has prepared for you.
Understanding Hope
The dictionary defines hope as “to believe in the future occurrence of something.” Synonyms include anticipate, await, watch for, and depend upon. Spiritually speaking, hope is much deeper—it is the unwavering trust that God’s promises will come to pass.
When hope is rooted in God’s Word, it becomes unshakable. Scripture teaches us that any hope grounded in His promises will surely come to fruition, no matter how long it takes.
Here’s the key: the foundation of your hope must be the Word of God. Without this, hope is like a house built on sand—fragile and easily shaken. But when we trust in what God says, our hope becomes as firm as a rock.
Biblical Hope Is Always Alive
The Bible gives us countless examples of hope against all odds. One of the most striking stories is that of King Nebuchadnezzar.
“The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven from men, and did eat grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hairs were grown like eagles' feathers, and his nails like birds' claws.” – Daniel 4:33 (KJV)
This king went from ruling a great empire to losing his mind and living like a wild animal. Yet even in this lowly state, God restored him when he turned his heart back to heaven. Nebuchadnezzar’s story is a reminder that no situation is beyond hope. If God could restore him, He can certainly restore you!
Hope Anchored in God’s Word
Hope is the link between your present struggles and your future victory. It enables you to look beyond today’s pain and trust in God’s promise that your tomorrow will be better.
When life feels overwhelming, remember Jeremiah 29:11:
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” – Jeremiah 29:11 (KJV)
When doubt creeps in, remind yourself of Isaiah 40:31:
“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” – Isaiah 40:31 (KJV)
No matter how difficult the journey, trust that God is in control. He holds tomorrow in His hands, and His plans for you are good.
Overcoming Hopelessness
If you’re battling feelings of hopelessness or helplessness, take heart in this truth: God specializes in turning around impossible situations.
Begin by praying this simple prayer:“Oh Lord, let every feeling of hopelessness and helplessness disappear from my life. Restore my hope in You and Your promises.”
Next, immerse yourself in the Word of God. Meditate on scriptures that remind you of His faithfulness and power to deliver. Surround yourself with believers who can encourage you and speak life into your situation.
The Power of Testimony
One of the most encouraging thoughts I heard in a podcast recently was this: “The fact that you’re here today means you’ve made it through everything you’ve faced up until now.”
Think about that for a moment. Every trial, heartbreak, and setback you’ve encountered has not defeated you. You are still standing. That’s evidence of God’s sustaining power and a reason to hope for what lies ahead.
Your Best Is Yet to Come
The Lord, who controls tomorrow, says that your tomorrow will be okay. Don’t give in to despair. Instead, hold on to hope, trusting that He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28, KJV).
No matter what you’re facing, believe this truth: Your best is yet to come. God is not finished with you. He has a purpose for your life, and He will bring it to completion.
What are you hoping for today? Have you experienced God’s faithfulness in a way that has strengthened your hope? I’d love to hear from you! Share your thoughts, testimonies, or prayer requests in the comments below, and let’s encourage one another as we journey toward the future God has in store.
Remember, as long as you are alive, there is hope. The best is yet to come!
